ghostpops started composing and recording music at the age of 15. He is a multi-genre, multi-instrumentalist who has a wide range of experience playing in bands and composing music. 

Growing up in South Africa exposed him to many different styles and genres from house and new wave, to rap and kwaito. After living in both the UK and Australia, he had played everything from double bass in a jazz trio to lead guitar in a death metal band. 

ghostpops studied jazz in university and is an accomplished guitarist, bassist (including upright double bass), pianist, and drummer. 

For the last 10 years he's been working as a producer and recording engineer. In 2018 he opened Tokyo Dope City Studios and has been working with both up and coming and experienced artists like SEEDA, Ralph and Jinmenusagi. As well as composing and recording his own albums, and playing in a number of bands on the side.

He is a hands-on producer who can help you develop your ideas and help you reach the next level with what you are trying to do. 

"I have been a recording artist since I was 15 and I've had both good and bad experiences in the studio as a recording artist. When I opened the studio, my main aim was to make sure the artist was taken care of and that they always have a good experience. A good experience is imperative to a good result. I always want the artist to feel comfortable to be able to  express themselves and create the exact sound that they are after. I have never had an artist at Tokyo Dope City who never returned. I pride myself on my work ethic, expertise and attention to detail. I am passionate about my job and creating music with you"
